L LitigationIQ Herron Law Firm

How LitigationIQ works

A clear, detailed guide to how your law firm runs every case with LitigationIQ — from the first intake call to settlement and closure.

Overview

LitigationIQ is a practice-management platform built for personal-injury and litigation firms. It turns your firm's intake-to-settlement workflow into a single, shared dashboard so every attorney and paralegal sees the same, up-to-date picture of the work.

Each law firm gets its own isolated workspace. You only ever see your firm's cases, leads, contacts, deadlines, and team — never another firm's data.

Getting started

Your firm admin receives a login (email + password) to access your workspace. Staff sign in at the firm portal and land on their dashboard.

Use the email and password shared with your firm admin at /login. You'll arrive at your personal dashboard showing your open cases, deadlines, and recent activity.

First steps

  • Confirm your firm profile (name, contact email, letterhead) under Settings → Firm profile.
  • Invite your attorneys and paralegals under Settings → Team so they can log in.
  • Review your case stages and default checklist templates under Settings → Case stages — you can customize these to match how your firm works.

The case pipeline

Every matter moves through a defined set of stages. By default your firm has eight stages, but you can add, rename, or reorder them to fit your practice.

1IntakeNew matters are created here from a lead or added directly, with the client and initial details.
2InvestigationEvidence gathering, liability research, and supporting parties are documented.
3TreatmentThe client's medical treatment, providers, and records are tracked as the injury heals.
4DemandA settlement demand is prepared and sent to the opposing party or insurer.
5NegotiationOffers are evaluated and negotiations progress toward resolution.
6LitigationIf necessary, the matter is filed and moves through court proceedings.
7SettlementAn agreement is reached and the case is resolved for final settlement.
8ClosedThe matter is closed and archived from the active board.

The Cases page is a tabbed board. Each tab shows one stage's cases with their client, status, next deadline, and value — so you can see the whole pipeline at a glance and move cases forward.

Intakes & leads

The Leads page captures prospective clients before they become cases. Track a lead's status (New → In review → Conflict check → Qualified → Converted) and notes.

  • Create a lead for a new call or inquiry, then run conflict checks and qualify the matter.
  • When a lead is Converted, LitigationIQ creates the case, the client contact, the case team from the lead's assignee, and an intake record automatically — no re-typing.
  • The Contacts page stores every client, defendant, adjuster, medical provider, referral source, and co-counsel in one place.

Case file details

Each case has a complete file. From the case page you can manage everything that belongs to that matter.

Parties & team

Add parties (clients, defendants, adjusters) to the matter and assign attorneys and paralegals to the case team.

Insurance

Record the relevant insurance policies, carriers, policy numbers, coverage limits, and adjuster contact details.

Documents

Upload and version documents per case — medical records, photos, correspondence — all organized by category.

Intake

Capture detailed client intake (contact, employment, medical providers, communications, health insurance) tied to the case.

Timeline

Every important event is appended to a running activity timeline so you always know the case history.

Deadlines & tasks

Never miss a filing window. Each case has its own deadlines and tasks.

  • Deadlines include court dates, statutes of limitation (SOL), SOL check-ins, discovery, and general tasks. They appear on your dashboard and the calendar with due-date warnings.
  • Tasks can be assigned to team members, checklisted against a stage, and toggled complete as work progresses.
  • Overdue items are highlighted so nothing slips through.

Team workload

The Team page shows how many open matters each attorney and paralegal is carrying, across every stage. Use it to balance assignments, spot bottlenecks, and keep work evenly distributed across the firm.

Calendar

The Calendar brings your deadlines and dates together in one view. Filter by case, assignee, or deadline type, and jump straight to the related matter from any entry.

Firm settings

Firm admins manage the workspace under Settings.

  • Firm profile — your firm name, contact email, logo, and letterhead used on documents.
  • Case stages — add, edit, reorder, and delete stages, and configure the default task checklist behind each stage to match your practice.
  • Team — add and manage the users (attorneys, paralegals, admins) who can access your firm.

Your data & security

Your firm's workspace is entirely isolated from every other firm on the platform. Every case, lead, contact, deadline, and team member is scoped to your firm only.

Good to know: LitigationIQ is built and maintained by Herron Law, but your firm's data stays private to your firm. Only your firm's users can access your workspace.
